Septmeber 2017 News Letter

Hello Everyone!

I hope this email finds you well? I apologise if you have been bombarded with information this month! I always post my updates and news to my Facebook page, the Facebook Clients Group, my Website and then for clients who aren’t on any of the social media, I also email to make sure everyone is kept updated.

There have been lots of changes here at Perfect 10 over the last 8 weeks or so, so I thought I’d tell you all about it in this newsletter.

PRICES

Over the past few years my suppliers have regularly increased their prices but I've thus far managed to absorb these costs and continue to keep up to date my training and insurances.  It's now come to a point that I'm working below minimum wage and I need to readdress some of my prices to ensure that all my costs are met and I can take a fair wage.  I have thought carefully about this and believe I remain competitive with other high quality salons. The new prices will start on 12th Oct 2017. I have attached a picture file of the new prices to this email, but you can get a copy on your next visit.

STUDENT DISCOUNT

The student discount will still continue, but at a lower rate of 10% instead of the previous 25%.

OPENING HOURS

My new opening hours will be Monday to Thursday 9am till 8pm. All appointments made for days/times outside this will still be honoured, and there will be longer opening hours over the Christmas period or when it is very busy.

NEW BOOKING SYSTEM

I am trialling a new booking system so during this time you may get duplicate reminders whilst I sort out the little bugs! Hopefully the new system will be more efficient at sending appointment reminders, and will also streamline my client records and book keeping.

NEW PRODUCTS

I am now an official Jessica Salon so can offer a new line in nourishing treatment products for the natural nail. I am doing some trials at the moment and will post the results in due course, but so far so good! Jessica Restoration (for post acrylic or gel nails), Fusion (for peeling and splitting) or Critical Care (for very weak nails) are all available in mini sizes for retail, along with Jessica Phenom Intensive Cuticle Oil. I will still be stocking CND Oils and hand creams, but there will be exciting new additions over the coming months leading up to Christmas.

I have replenished all of my gel colours and added approx 40 new colours to my ranges, so there are now a total of 91 Jessica Geleration Colours, 105 CND Shellac Colours, and a new range, Gelish from Harmony with a total of 14 colours so far. New nail enamel ranges from Jessica and Jessica Phenom in stock too.

I have installed a new fume and dust extraction unit to make sure when carrying out an acrylic service that our air is dust and fume free, making it a cleaner and safer environment.

After parting ways with Dermalogica, and after much research, I have now changed over my skincare provider to Eve Taylor....and here’s the lowdown from the company to explain why I chose them!

  • British Skincare at its finest
  • We thoroughly research our formulations as all of our products are developed specifically with a view to use by the professional beauty therapist who can then recommend with confidence - the correct products to be used by their client for homecare use.
  • In the last 50 years we have never tested any of our products on animals – we only test our products on people and after 50 years we have proven that our products work and deliver the results.
  • Our products are formulated to balance with the correct pH of the skin.
  • All of our products are all Paraben free. We do not use ingredients such as artificial colours or fragrances and well as other known irritants which can sensitize the skin, including alcohols, formaldehyde, petrochemicals, or phthalates alongside other ingredients that can be comodegenic (pore blocking).
  • Our products contain active ingredients that are beyond cosmetic, they work deeper than the upper layer of skin giving highly effective results.
  • Our skincare is both used and sold by trained qualified therapists worldwide who will analyse the skin first and only prescribe products suitable for the skin type and current condition. As we change our skin changes so choosing and using the correct products is vital to maintaining great skin and achieving great results.
  • We use tamper evident packaging as much as possible, alongside contamination free packaging. All of our packaging can also be recycled after use.
  • Our products are manufactured in small batches so that the active ingredients can be included to ensure purity and freshness in every batch, without the products sitting in the warehouse for months before we sell them. We are also proud that every product holds the Eve Taylor signature - as this is your guarantee that the products you have purchased are some of the best products in the world.
  • We are also active members of the Aromatherapy Trades Council (ATC) and the International Spa Association (ISPA).
  • Above all our products are professional, affordable, proven, trusted and uncomplicated – which makes Eve Taylor® products increasingly the professional’s number one choice when looking at products that deliver on all levels.

COURSES

My first course is to change my waxing system on 27th September in Manchester.  The course is with CND (the people who make Shellac) Waxperts. The wax system I am using now is very basic and I would like to offer my clients something a bit more upmarket. Waxperts offers a more flexible, gentle and effective treatment.

I am also attending a course for the use of an electric filing machine on 2nd October in Prestatyn. Efile’s have received a lot of bad press due to the use of them by untrained nail technicians and being used in disreputable salons, as this can cause damage to the natural nail. Used correctly, with training, an efile is a valuable tool to help reduce strain on the nail technicians arm from constant filling.

The last course I have booked is in Peterborough on 17th October with Eve Taylor. This is training to day to enhance my skincare knowledge.

Future planned courses include new techniques with Shellac, Jessica Geleration and my new system, Gelish. I will be requiring models so watch this space!

So that’s it for now....I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of my clients (many of whom are now good friends!), who have helped my business grow over the past few years. I couldn’t have done it without you!
